You need to eat right and exercise even if you are stressed-out over money or feel you cannot eat right. Stress kills and I see that with so many folks – it is disturbing, especially considering that the nutrients in the body get sucked up and depleted fast during mental and physical stress. To counter act this cause and effect you need a sound strategy to get you through the week.
Be careful to eat right, of course, are you taking vitamins? Well, then you might think about that. In addition, add some of the super foods to your diet; Avocados, Blue Berries, Honey, Garlic, Flaxseed and whatever else you read about in those health food magazines.
If you are going to snack, cool, just put in good stuff, it’s way too easy to suck down a couple of frappachinos each day, and skip exercise. My saying in the morning is (while looking in the mirror) “Strength and Honor!” and that to me includes the will power to take control and eat well.
Meanwhile, I am planning a bicycle ride from Canada to Mexico to raise money for Juvenile Diabetes. You know we must set examples for the kids; otherwise, our Health Care System is sunk. Maybe you have some long-term fitness goal, well then write it down now. Maybe you want to run a Marathon, okay, then start breaking it down on how you plan to do this and then get busy and stick with the program.
Look, 50% of all Americans have a New Year’s resolution to eat right and exercise, most will fail, so you need to get busy, and find the strength to be the one who succeeds, because your life depends on it. Something to contemplate in 2008.
